What happens when you bring together students, alumni, young researchers, and ocean professionals from across the globe… for 24 hours straight? As part of UNOC 2025, we are organizing an official online side event like no other: a 24-hour live relay, following the sun across all time zones.
This collaborative initiative is driven by Université Côte d’Azur and the MARRES program, designed to spotlight the voices, work, and perspectives of emerging ocean leaders. Across 25 short sessions, we explore the many faces of ocean sustainability through roundtables, short videos, and dynamic exchanges.
We took the time to say hi to 85 speakers (most of them being MARRES students, alumni and instructors) in 44 countries or territories around 25 hot topics from plastic, blue carbon, aquaculture, coral reefs, expeditions, megafauna, mollusks, conservation & communities or AI.
